Hearts

Huh, found this in my unfinished posts today.  Not sure when I wrote it, but how sweet to reread.

I had an evening with my mom's Bible study group last night and when I came home Austin told me this beautifully sweet story about Chali.  I just HAVE to share!

Austin was kissing and hugging the girls goodnight and Chali asked what he would be doing after he tucked them in.  He told her he would be going down in the basement to work in the studio and she said, "No daddy, don't go in the basement!"  He said, "It's ok sweetie.  I really need to do some work in the basement."  "No daddy, no!  Pleeease don't go to the basement."  So he asked her why she didn't want him to go to the basement and she replied, "because then your heart will be too far away from mine."  Austin of course completely melted, as did I when he retold the story!  And seriously, how did this 7 year old get so old?  But I've been asking myself this question since she was 2.

life took over

Wow, I haven't posted in a year and a half.  Erg.  But oh well.  Life took over.

My babies are growing up.  Just look at them!

We are all doing so well right now.  Chali is 8 1/2 (she would put the half in there) and Karis will be 6 in 3 weeks.  *tear*  We keep busy.  Very busy.  Chali was doing vocal lessons for a few months as well as hip-hop.  But as the days have become warmer she has decided she would like more free time in the afternoons after school so decided to put the vocal lessons on hold for now.  Karis is still taking violin and doing so well.  They both love school and are quite the little scholars and socialites.  Their little personalities have become very big personalities and I love it.  Sometimes I don't know what to do with them, but I'm glad they have so much independence and individuality.

We're getting ready for school to be out.  I enjoy summer break as much as they do.  The pool beckons us.  This summer, Karis would like to take an 8 week hip-hop class (after seeing her sister compete last month) as her birthday present.  And Chali would like to be in a traveling acting group this summer.  Me? I just want to lay by the pool and ride my bike and work in the garden and finish home projects that I have been working on for a while now. Oh, and I want to go camping a few times too.  The 4 of us!  Nature and my family make me happy.  Speaking of home projects, I have much more to do today, so better get a move on.  Until next time...whenever that may be.
